Alera Comfort is a Wi-Fi–connected smart thermostat with a web dashboard that allows properties to set minimum and maximum temperature limits and alerts maintenance teams when HVAC systems are not heating or cooling properly. Optional booking system integrations link HVAC operation to guest check-in and check-out, ensuring units only run at full capacity when rooms are occupied and reducing unnecessary energy costs.

Unlike smart thermostats that rely on motion sensors—which can shut off HVAC systems while guests are still in the room—Alera does not depend on in-room motion detection. When booking system integrations are enabled, HVAC operation can be tied to guest check-in and check-out schedules, helping ensure systems run at full capacity only when rooms are occupied and reducing unnecessary energy use without impacting guest comfort.

When booking system integration is implemented, properties can expect a 15–30% reduction in HVAC-related energy costs, depending on usage patterns and climate.

Alera supports the following HVAC system types:

• One-stage conventional heat only
• One-stage conventional cool only
• One-stage conventional heat and cool
• Two-stage conventional heat and cool
• One-stage heat pump with auxiliary heat
• Two-stage heat pump with auxiliary heat

Alera Comfort replaces the existing thermostat without requiring new wiring or infrastructure. Alera Comfort thermostats require a c-wire to operate.

Although some utility providers offer rebates for installing energy-efficient thermostats, Alera Comfort does not currently support participation in these programs.

Alera Comfort notifies you by dashboard alert and email when HVAC systems aren't heating or cooling properly, enabling faster response and fewer guest complaints.

Each thermostat takes about 10-30 minutes to install, depending on the existing setup. No complex rewiring is needed.
